About

one (2)Hi there! My name is Courtney (aka FloofyMoose) and welcome to my blog.

I’m here to share my mind’s ramblings on knitting, spinning, dyeing and other fiber arts. I’m sure sometimes my thoughts will wander over to other things I make at home.

Fiber Arts

I teach classes at fiber events and am available to teach private lessons on fiber preparation, spinning, dyeing and knitting.  In addition to teaching, I do freelance writing and photography for others in the fiber industry.  My first published article, Finishing Face-Off, is in the Spring 2015 issue of Ply Magazine.  In May of 2015 I expanded into the world of knit-wear design and hope to add technical editing for knitting patterns in the future.

At Home

I have help at home. One very big black cat named Betty Ruth and a floofy white Angora bunny named Winston. In case you’re curious, I do spin the fiber from the bunny. By day (and sometimes evenings and weekends), I’m a business valuation senior manager at a public accounting firm (translation – I like numbers). The rest of the time I’m making stuff. Sometimes trouble, sometimes a mess, but always fun.

Blogging

I hope to post twice a month. Some posts will be about what projects I’m working on or what I’m making. Some will be about a more general topic such as a technique, review or event.  Whatever strikes my fancy!

Just learned about you! So excited. I love in college over 25 years ago. Recently go some raw fkeece and can’t wait to learn how to clean and naturally dye it. Been reading about cleaning it but am afraid of goofing it up. Do you have Saturday classes on working with wool. Also interested growing a d playing with cotton. Thanks
